Accessibilities Committee

CNCA 06 created the Accessibilities Sub-Committee at the Inventory Assembly on November 24, 2019. The purpose of the committee is to serve as a sharing session for accessibilities topics and to support accessibilities work at the district level.

This is a volunteer committee dedicated to collecting and sharing information that can increase awareness of existing barriers and increase the accessibility of the AA program to people who need its life-saving message. Our guiding principle is the Responsibility Statement:

“When anyone, anywhere, reaches out for help, I want the hand of AA always to be there. And for that, I am responsible.”

We are guided by the Responsibility Statement. We are dedicated to providing information and resources that help make A.A. accessible to all who reach out for help. Access barriers can be physical, mental, geographical, cultural, or any other factor (for example: safety, ethnicity, spirituality, or barriers to unity and inclusivity) that can hinder an alcoholic from receiving the A.A. message or participating in the A.A. program (literature, meetings, the 12 Steps, and service opportunities)

Please contact the Accessibilities Chairperson with any questions.

The Accessibilities Sub-Committee meets on the fourth Saturday at 11:00 a.m. except in December, when it meets on the 3rd Saturday of the month. The Committee meets in a hybrid format.
